I found my old ipac2 board I purchased back in 2011, and am trying to test it before wiring up buttons and joysticks. The board has a PS/2 interface, and I've hooked it up via a passive PS/2 adapter and USB cable (PS/2 male -> USB A female, with USB A male to A male cable). Unfortunately, my Windows 10 computer isn't detecting the board at all

4. In my quest to build my first CPU, I am trying to hook up a PS/2 keyboard to my FPGA. The keyboard is a Perixx PERIBOARD-409P. After a bit of reading, I hooked up the keyboard to a scope to verify its correct behaviour. Unfortunately, what I get is a flow of continuous 0xAA codes. I wanted to try a KVM switch, but the maximum resolution for KVMs (immediately available
PS/2 keyboard devices are governed by a kernel-level service called i8042prt, short for the technical name for the PS/2 keyboard port. When a USB keyboard is added as a replacement for a PS/2 keyboard, the i8042prt service is forcibly disabled. I read on the internet that PS/2 keyboards have a native N-Key Rollover. I found a cheap LabTec White PS/2 Keyboard and decided to try it out. When it arrived, I plugged it in while the PC was off and then turned on the PC (I knew that PS/2 keyboards have to be plugged in pre-boot). The keyboard didn't work, but the Numpad light was on.
Give this a try. Shut down the computer. Unplug the keyboard and mouse. (USB) Boot the computer then plug in the keyboard and wait for the sound and the popup to go away. Then plug in the mouse and do the same thing. Try the mouse and keyboard. Reboot and see if they still work. It's very unusual that a PS2 won't work.
